Translation and communication programme for the development of international projects of general interest in the social field

The programme supports the development of general interest social projects with volunteer work centred around communication and translation activities in European Union projects that concern social topics such as children's rights, youth participation, support for vulnerable collectives, violence against girls and women, etc., with the aim of supporting the projects’ impact, reach and sustainability. It can be carried out in person or online.

 

The volunteer should have good translation and communication skills, especially the ability to write and understand texts. They should also have a good knowledge of the languages used for the project, usually English and Spanish. They should also be interested in working on projects of general interest that seek to benefit vulnerable groups. Also appreciated is the ability to change and adapt following the indications and corrections of the supervisor, with whom there will be continual communication.

 

Tasks: 

 

- Support in the translation of texts, generally Spanish-English and English-Spanish, framed within the development of general interest social projects, focusing on different areas such as: juvenile justice, migration, social and professional inclusion of vulnerable groups, prevention of violence, social training for young people and professionals, etc.

- Support in the proofreading, correcting and editing of texts (original or translated) pertaining to different activities within these types of projects.

- Support in collation of information for communication and translation activities for these types of projects. 

- Support in the writing of first drafts of texts for these types of projects, for news pieces, posts on social media, newsletters, etc.

 

Timeframe: 

 

The timetable is set at 25 hours per week, from 9:30 to 14:30, Monday to Friday. It can be adapted to the needs of the volunteer within this limit of hours. 

 

Volunteering can be carried out both in person and online, with the possibility of alternating both modalities in the same volunteer placement according to the needs of both parties, and according to imperatives such as the visa validity period in the case of a foreign volunteer.
